If you have ever been out to eat and want to replicate a dish. Need help finding ingredients or a recipe? I have spent years in different types of restaurants and I’m sure I can help you to figure out a way to bring your own twist to a dish. Sometimes going to a restaurant the menu might have words that even I don’t know. I have to pull out my phone and search for definitions. I want to make that a thing of the past as best I can. I will post terms and translations of basic cooking terms and the next time you can confidently order that potato rosti and know it’s just a fancy hashbrown.Farming can begin at home
In most cities, you can bypass the big-name grocer and get your locally sourced vegetables, fruits, dairy, and meats straight from the farm. The CSA Box is a great way to be seasonal and also try new things right in your own home. I’ve found them to be particularly great for helping you eat local and fresh. I know a few websites for you to connect with farms in the DMV area.
